Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has had a torrid season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks his first championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.

Success also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an better serving game.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the last five points to take the lead.

Both players traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
